"Great customer service" I want to Thank You both for your thoughtfulness and consideration during my stay with you. Your great customer service and care were very much appreciated. I also enjoyed the homemade surprise that I got in the mail. Delicious and very thoughtful! I got great sleep and felt safe at all times. I would highly recommend all that I know and love to come stay with you and to enjoy your hospitality. I do covet your space and hope I will always find a place to stay with you when I am in need. Rest easy and looking forward to seeing you both.- Roberta, 4/30/2015 "SUPER clean, SUPER friendly" Boisterous praise to the keepers of Colony Motel for providing a SUPER clean, SUPER friendly lodging establishment. A few years ago, before I became a Yelper, we stayed here on an overnight run from New Brunswick to Portland and made a vow to return for a visit. Fast forward to 2014 and we planned a stay here in part to explore the Bangor/Bar Harbor area as well as a relax pad on our 2 week jaunt around New England. This visit did not disappoint in the least. Because its a family run establishment it has a wonderful personal touch to each of the rooms... both in decor as well as maintenance. Bedding is done daily, supplies are promply replenished and the propery is set off the highway allowing a peaceful nights sleep. Prices are a bit higher than average, but the personality that you receive from the owners truly makes it worth while. - John, 1/14/2015 "Very friendly" They were very friendly, located in a quiet street, and not too far a drive from town. A welcome rest after a day of driving was just what they offered. - Phil, 12/8/2014 "Fantastic place to stay" - Travellingc0uple2, 10/26/2014 "We felt so comfortable" Where do I start? From the minute we pulled up until the time we departed we have never received such personal hospitalty. Steve and Lynn you are gems and you win first prize from us. You're hard work pays off and doesn't go unnoticed. We felt so comfortable there and felt like we have known you for a long time and the room was spotless, Marlene and I were planning out next trip as we pulled out of your driveway.- Donelda, 9/15/14 "It's so cozy" We pulled in was feeling it. Then the owner came out. She was so nice . She showed us the room. It's so cozy . It was like I was in someone's house. I love all the decorations because I love those kind anyway. I would stay here again. I would recommend this place to anyone.- Sheryl, 8/16/2014 "Wow" - Bruce, 8/18/2014 "A find! Don't tell anyone please" I stop on my way between US and Canada. This permits me to go via Route 9 through Calais/St. Stephen rather than Houlton: a smaller road, quite quiet, but not 95. Depends on your preference; and you can still pop over to 95 if you like. There is not much between Brewer and the Canadian border on Route 9. For me being off the main road is a plus, so i can just drive in and bring my equipment etc. into the hotel with me. Even so there is plenty nearby: Lynn told me about an Italian (Greek?) restaurant about a mile or two away, which I really liked. And the usual Tim Horton's, Dunkin Donuts, etc. So nice to find someplace that is not a chain, with proprietors invested in the business, and at an economical price. - barbarawhite355744, 7/30/2014
"A clean, cozy, comfortable home-away-from-home" My elderly mother and I have stayed here twice (April 2012 and December 2013) when we were visiting Bangor for shopping, errands, and/or medical care. The owner is very welcoming; the rooms are clean (this really means something when I say it, because I'm very particular with regard to cleanliness) and comfortable. The décor is a cut above what you find at the typical motel, and there are nice little touches in the rooms like a basket with chocolate bars and coffee/tea/cocoa (even the little plastic containers of cream are arranged artistically!). The hotel is in a nice setting by the Penobscot River and there's a great breakfast place (the Eagle's Nest) nearby. It's well worth crossing the river from Bangor to stay in this lovely motel.- Wendy, 12/10/13 |
